WASHINGTON, D.C., November 2, 2017 – Gallagher-Kaiser (GK) and Universal Piping Industries (UPI) both accepted Zero Injury Safety Awards from the National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee for their work on the GM Flint, GM Fort Wayne and GM Bowling Green projects. The awards were presented at the 17th annual NMAPC Zero Injury Safety Awards Gala in Washington, D.C. on November 2, 2017.
To be eligible, the project must have amassed a minimum of 500,000 hours with zero OSHA recordable injuries throughout the project. The individual contractors must have worked 50,000 – 199,999 hours without a recordable injury.
The following GK and UPI projects were recognized: GM Flint, GK with Local Union No.7 for 182,355 work hours, GM Fort Wayne, GK with Local Union No.20 for 144,456 work hours and both Gallagher-Kaiser and Universal Piping Industries were honored at GM Bowling Green, GK with Local Union No.110 for 84,107 work hours and UPI with Local Union No.502 for 108,684 work hours.
