With the monthly production of 17,200 Chevrolet Trailblazers and GMC Envoys at stake, GM called on G-K. Nearly 500 G-K engineers, supervisors, tradesmen and safety personnel begin arriving at the site within hours of the tornado. They begin repairing and replacing exhaust ducts and air systems, as well as, all other sheet metal that G-K had installed in the paint shop two years earlier.

Working on a 24-hour, seven-day schedule, G-K was a key member of the team responsible for the plant resuming full production only seven weeks after being struck.
